Connecting Your Xero Account

Connecting Your Xero Account

Solido integrates directly with Xero to sync your invoices and contacts automatically. This connection is the foundation of how Solido works. It pulls in your outstanding invoices so it can send timely payment reminders to your customers. This guide covers everything you need to know about the Xero connection.

How the Integration Works

When you connect Xero, Solido establishes a secure, read-and-write connection to your Xero organisation. Solido syncs your invoices and contacts on a regular basis, keeping your data up to date without any manual effort. When a payment is recorded in Xero, Solido automatically detects the change and stops sending reminders for that invoice.

Step-by-Step Connection Process

To connect your Xero account, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Settings in the left sidebar.
  2. Click on Integrations.
  3. Click the Connect Xero button.
  4. You will be redirected to the Xero login page. Log in with your Xero credentials.
  5. Select the Xero organisation you want to connect. If you have access to multiple organisations, choose the one that matches this workspace.
  6. Review the permissions and click Allow Access to authorise the connection.

Once authorised, you will be redirected back to Solido and the sync will begin immediately.

What Data Syncs from Xero

Solido syncs the following data from your Xero account:

  • Invoices: All outstanding invoices are synced, including historical invoices that are still unpaid. Solido tracks the invoice amount, due date, status, and reference number.
  • Contacts: Customer contacts are synced along with their associated email addresses. These email addresses are used as the recipients for payment reminders.
  • Payment Status: Solido continuously monitors payment status. When an invoice is marked as paid in Xero, Solido updates its records and stops any further reminders for that invoice.

One Workspace Per Xero Organisation

Each Solido workspace connects to a single Xero organisation. If your business manages multiple Xero organisations, you will need to create a separate Solido workspace for each one. This ensures that invoices, contacts, and reminder settings stay cleanly separated between entities.

Monitoring Sync Status

You can check the status of your Xero sync at any time by going to Settings → Integrations. Here you will see when the last sync occurred and whether it completed successfully. Solido syncs data frequently throughout the day to ensure your invoice information stays current.

Troubleshooting a Failed Sync

If a sync fails, try these steps:

  • Check that your Xero subscription is active and your login credentials have not changed.
  • Go to Settings → Integrations and click Reconnect to re-authorise the connection.
  • If the issue persists, disconnect and reconnect your Xero account using the steps above.
  • Contact Solido support if you continue to experience sync issues after reconnecting.

Disconnecting Xero

If you need to disconnect your Xero account, navigate to Settings → Integrations and click Disconnect next to your Xero organisation. This will stop all syncing and no further reminders will be sent. Your historical data in Solido will be retained, but it will no longer update from Xero. You can reconnect at any time by following the connection steps above.
